The centre has infused Rs 2 lakh crore as capital into various banks during the past three years.
Bank of Baroda will get Rs 7,000 crore, Indian Overseas Bank Rs 3,800 crore and Central Bank of India Rs 3,300 crore.
Bank recapitalisation at one go will provide a big impetus to credit growth.
Capital infusion has not been sufficient and a delay in addressing banking issues could prolong India’s economic recovery.
The capital infusion will help some banks to come out of the central bank's prompt corrective action.
