TVS Motor Company entered the lucrative super-premium bike segment with the launch of its TVS Apache RR 310 bike.

The new sport bike will be sold in domestic and international markets by end December.

Mahindra launches XUV500 petrol at Rs 15.49 lakh

Mahindra and Mahindra, which lost race as India’s biggest utility vehicle maker by sales to archrival Maruti Suzuki, expanded its sports utility vehicle portfolio to boost sales.

The Mumbai-based auto major has introduced a new petrol variant of its premium SUV, the XUV500 with a price tag of Rs 15.49 lakh at Delhi showroom. The XUV500 petrol will take on the Jeep Compass petrol which comes with a 1.4-litre turbo engine good for 163hp and the 1.6-litre petrol Hyundai Creta.

Tata Motors beats Mahindra to become third largest carmaker

The strategy of new generation cars has helped Tata Motors to regain its third largest carmaker position  in the country ahead of the targetted year  of 2019. With demand rising for its new cars such as Nexon SUV, Tigor sedan and Tiago hatchback, Tata Motors beat rival and utility vehicle specialist Mahindra to fourth position last week-end. Maruti Suzuki, which sells one out of two cars bought in the country, is the dominant market leader, followed by Korean brand Hyundai.

30 automakers find Delhi expo expensive, to give it a miss

About 30 top-notch car and bike manufacturing companies will not participate in the prestigious biennial Delhi Auto Show staring February 7, 2018. These include biggies such as British iconic luxury sports carmaker Jaguar Land Rover, Audi, Skoda, Volkswagen, Harley Davidson, Bajaj Auto, Ford, Ashok Leyland and Nissan, among others.

India-bound all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler SUV unveiled in Los Angeles

Jeep, the iconic American sports utility vehicle maker, on Wednesday unveiled its all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler SUV in Los Angeles.

Built in Toledo, Ohio, it will arrive in showrooms in January 2018. It will be introduced in India sometime in second half of next year, close to the festive season through CBU (completely built unit) route.

The SUV brand has no plans as of now to manufacture this model at any other factory.

Vehicle sales show growth in all segments

With demand picking up post demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime settling down, the Rs 4.5 lakh crore Indian automobile industry in Asia’s third biggest economy has shown a growth trajectory in practically every segment, bringing cheers to the automakers.
