Total sales across categories rose 2 per cent to 21,05,508 units in November as against 20,54,296 units in the same month last year.

FADA President Ashish Harsharaj Kale, in a letter to Siam President Rajan Wadhera, said reporting retail numbers is also a norm which is followed internationally and would help in the betterment of the Indian auto industry as well.

It has been urged to report monthly sales data based registrations instead of wholesales from factory gate.

Two-wheeler sales declined by 5 per cent to 13,32,384 units last month as compared with 14,03,382 units in the year-ago period.

Passenger vehicle sales in July declined 11 per cent to 2,43,183 units.
