“The cumulative orders which will be delivered in the financial year 2012-13 are valued at approximately Rs 2,000 crore,” a Suzlon Energy spokesperson told Financial Chronicle. He said Suzlon group had received a total of 269 mw project orders over the past one month, excluding the orders announced separately. The company bagged 80 mw worth of orders in India and a total of 189 mw worth of orders in Brazil and the US. The spokesperson said the order size ranges from 0.6 mw to 121 mw and comprises turbines from Suzlon’s latest S9X suite, among other S-series models. “These orders reiterate not only the dynamic and rapidly growing Indian wind sector, but also Suzlon's presence in emerging economies and competitive markets such as Brazil and the US,” Suzlon Energy founder, chairman and managing director Tulsi Tanti said in a statement. He said Brazil was an important market for the company under its focus on emerging economies.
“Over the past few months, the company has been receiving strong and regular orders, which will increase its global wind business,” Alex Mathew, research head at Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services, told FC.
