crore for the December quarter, up 33.8 per cent from Rs 47.8 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue increased 44 per cent to Rs 433 crore during the quarter from Rs 300.6 crore in same quarter of 2010.

“There was an all round growth during the quarter led by transformational deals with existing customers in each geography including the US and Europe, West Asia and Africa (Emea) with our main focus in banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), travel and manufacturing services,” NIIT Technologies chief executive officer Arvind Thakur said.

He said complete integration of acquired Proyecta Sistemas de Informacion SA (Proyecta) of Spain resulted in revenue share of the US and EMEA to 37 per cent and 39 per cent, respectively. Travel and transportation contributed to 38 per cent of revenue mix while BFSI accounted for 36 per cent of revenues. Proyecta is a software services company in Spain that specialises in travel and financial services acquired by NIIT Technologies in August 2011. In an interview with FC early this month, Thakur said Proyecta would be a front-end means for larger European engagements offering gateway to traditional Spanish-speaking markets in Latin America. The company is also setting up an office in Dubai and is engaging with different airlines for infrastructure services.
