There are many developments on their way in the PSU sector.

It will be interesting to look at the government's process of divesting stakes in PSU companies. Investors may keenly follow the process.

There are a number of PSUs, which are still to be listed. When these companies get listed on the exchanges, there will be changes in their shareholding structures and they will be more accountable. The IPOs (initial public offerings) of PSU firms may bring life to the PSU counter.

Above all, the government's recent introduction of `Maharatna' status to three companies is likely to be watched keenly by market participants. These firms are expected to go for some action as they will be given more freedom to take decisions on various fronts.

We expect the PSU sector to register good third quarter results on the back of a reduction in expenses and robust top line growth. We are bullish on the sector.
