Indian stocks trading on American bourses gained nearly USD 7 billion in the past

week, with IT bellwether Infosys Technologies and private sector lender ICICI Bank accounting for half of the gains.

For the week ended September 11, Indian entities listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq added USD 6.59 billion to their market-cap, with Infosys and ICICI Bank together adding USD 3.58 billion.

ICICI Bank's valuation shot up by USD 2.12 billion, while Infosys saw an increase of USD 1.46 billion to its market-cap.

Among the 16 companies trading as American Depository Receipts (ADRs), another major gainer was copper producer Sterlite Industries. Its valuation rose by USD 935 million.

IT firm Wipro's market-cap increase by USD 821 million.

The valuation of Mahindra Satyam went up by USD 674 million and private sector lender HDFC Bank's ascended by USD 671 million.

During the week, Mahindra Satyam bagged a Rs 2,000-crore outsourcing deal spread over 10 years from new telecom player Etisalat DB, which is in the process of starting mobile services in India.
