Karsanbhai Patel-promoted and manufacturer of Nima soap and Nirma washing powder, Nirma, has reported a rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 31. The company’s net profit rose 47.54 per cent to Rs 60.03 crore from Rs 31.49 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

Net sales from operations for the quarter rose 30.82 per cent to Rs 823.49 crore from Rs 636.15 crore in the same quarter a year before. Standalone net sales for the financial year rose 23 per cent to Rs 3030.17 crore while net profit for the period fell 57 per cent to Rs 93.43 crore.

However, its consolidated result for the year ended March 31 showed a fall of almost 40 per cent in its net profit to Rs 133 crore as compared with Rs 222.51 crore in the previous financial year.

For the quarter ended March 31, net sales of its soaps and surfactants segment rise 22 per cent to Rs 727.44 crore, which saw its operating profit from the segment rise 42 per cent to Rs 137.4 crore.
