QuEST Global launches aviation SEZ in Belgaum

The global aerospace engineering & manufacturing company, QuEST Global has launched India’s first aerospace

precision engineering & manufacturing ecosystem - the Quest Global Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Belgaum, Karnataka.

The SEZ is spread over 300 acres of land. According to the company an initial investment of Rs 150 crore has been made in this SEZ. The company aims to create over 7000 jobs locally.

The SEZ currently houses an engineering services facility, a precision machining facility, sheet metal facility within the Aerospace Processing India (API) unit. The API is a joint venture (JV) with Magellan Aerospace. The JV runs as an independent operating company.

“The Indian aviation industry is being watched closely by all global majors and is on a steady growth path. We fully support the vision of entities like QuEST Global, who by setting up this project have displayed their commitment towards growing not only the economy, but also the development of local areas,” said Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel.

Meanwhile, Quest Global has signed MOUs with 3 players in the aerospace manufacturing space. It has signed a MoU with Belgian aerospace major, S.A.B.C.A to manufacture metallic parts and assembly work for the Airbus A-350XWB Flap Track Structures.

“This contract is significant in terms of, both magnitude and the value which is expected to be $100 million over the next ten years .S.A.B.C.A has been our trusted partner over the last 4 years and this contract will be executed in our SEZ which has been set up with a view to providing complete end-to-end ecosystem and design to build services to our partners,” said Aravind Melligeri, Chairman & Co-founder of QuEST Global.

Quest Global has also signed an MoU with Magellan Aerospace to evaluate to set up a new dedicated facility in the QuEST Global SEZ, Belgaum to manufacture components and sub assemblies for aero engines. Further the company signed a MoU with FARINIA GEIE SA, a French foundry and forgings company to establish an aerospace forging facility in India.
