Prestige launches Forum Vijaya Mall in Chennai
Prestige Group has launched its latest mall in Chennai — Forum Vijaya Mall. Already being appreciated for its planning and design, it has come up at Vadapalani, a commercial and residential hub.

The mall has close to 100 shops showcasing diverse Indian and international brands, over 20 food and beverage outlets and a food court with a seating capacity for 850 people. The highlight of the mall will be Palazzo, a nine-screen multiplex and IMAX® by Sathyam Cinemas, the leading multiplex operator in Chennai. The multiplex though is yet to open.

In addition, the mall boasts of Lifestyle department store, traditional garment retailer RmKV’s flagship store and Chennai’s largest hypermarket (of over 100,000 sq ft) by Auchan. It also has a multilevel car parking system to cater to over 3,000 vehicles and spread over 11 levels and two basements, the company said in a statement.

The uniqueness of Forum Vijaya Mall is its location in the Vadapalani area of Chennai, which boasts of a slew of large apartments. The mall is well connected to Arcot Road and Jawaharlal Nehru Road. From a convenience perspective, metro commuters can easily shop and then hop on to a metro train from the Vadapalani Metro Station, or can even catch a bus from the Koyambedu Bus Terminal in the vicinity.

“Chennai today is synonymous with growth and is one of the most vibrant investment destinations in the country. With manufacturing, hospitality and healthcare among other industries witnessing a boom, there is a huge need for quality realty developments that can complement this trend and our offerings will meet the city’s requirements,” says Irfan Razack, CMD, Prestige Group.

“The plan for leasing the mall space started two years before its formal launch now. Right from the beginning, we wanted it to be a mall that will cater to the catchment areas and to to have the right mix of brands, including the best of the local brands. We also positioned it as a mall that will cater to the middle and upper middle class segment. The response from the public within days of its inauguration proved our planning was right,” says S Raghunandan, CEO-retail, Prestige Group. zz
