FMCG company Marico on Thursday announced a net profit of Rs 46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, a 15 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.
The company recorded a turnover of Rs 601 for the first quarter, a growth of 28 per cent over the same period last year, Marico said in a statement on Thursday.
Marico's international business grew by 37 per cent during the first quarter of the current fiscal.
Parachute coconut oil in Bangladesh, had a market share of 69 per cent. The company's anti-dandruff variant creams Fiancee and Hair Code achieved a market share of 62 per cent in Egypt, Marico said, adding, the company's South Africa business clocked a turnover of Rs 14 crore. In the domestic consumer products business, Marico lead with a volume market share of 48 per cent in the branded coconut oil category, it said.
"In an uncertain and difficult macro environment, we have focused on growth in consumer franchise," Marico domestic consumer products business chief executive officer Saugata Gupta said.
"For Marico Overseas, this year is one of consolidation as we build on the inorganic gains of the past two years," Marico international business CEO Vijay Subramaniam said.
