ABB bags Rs 55cr order for Kolkata airport

Rs 55 crore for setting up electrical infrastructure at the Kolkata airport.

ABB India, "has received an order worth Rs 55 crore to provide the electrical infrastructure for modernisation of Kolkata airport," the company said in a statement.

The company has bagged an order from contractors Italian-Thai Development Public Company Ltd and ITD Cementation, which are undertaking the modernisation of the airport, the statement said.

ABB India would provide electrical infrastructure and control systems to ensure reliable power supply to the airport.

The scope of work also includes complete system engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and overall project management. The project which is scheduled to complete by 2011.

"... ABB's energy efficient electrical products and systems will help to ensure passenger comfort and seamless operations at the modernised airport," ABB India Vice Chairman and Managing Director Biplab Majumder said.

Shares of ABB India were quoting at Rs 741.50, down 0.03 in the after noon trade on the BSE.
