ET Medical Devices has entered a 51:49 joint venture with Trivitron to manufacture and distribute cardiology-related instruments like electrocardiographs, ECG accessories and other cardiac diagnostic instruments.
“The facility, proposed to come up at the 25-acre medical technology park at Irungattukottai near Chennai, will cost over Rs 15 crore,” said G S K Velu, managing director of Trivitron Group of Companies. The unit is expected to start functioning in three months.
Similarly, Johnson Medicals, manufacturer of modular operation theatres, is collaborating with Trivitron to have a manufacturing facility at the medical technology park. This is second such facility of the company, after Malaysia.
“Johnson will provide the technology and the investment will be coming from our side,” said Velu. Production will start at a temporary facility in Chennai in three months.
