Zen mobile to launch tabs in India

Zen Mobile plans to take on Samsung or Apple by launching pads for the Indian market. Though tab is still perceived to be a niche category, the company wants to launch the product at a competitive price.

“We are also planning to get into new innovative categories. So, we are planning to launch tab for the Indian market. Though it’s a niche segment for the Indian market, we believe we can get more people to buy this product through competitive pricing,” said Deepesh Gupta, MD, Zen Mobile.

“We can get more people to buy our product, if we get the pricing right,” Gupta said.

The company is also launching mobile phone handsets in Nigeria and Sri Lanka. “We plan to launch our products in other markets too. We are sourcing all products from China. We are planning to open assembly line in India once the government regulations are cleared,” he said.
