YRF sends notices for playing songs at WC matches sans permit

Yash Raj Films ( YRF )) has sent legal notices to the International Cricket Council ( ICC )), BCCI and the Mumbai Cricket Association ( MCA )) for playing their songs at World Cup matches without permission.

The notices have been sent by Novex Communication, the production house's authorised agency which issues licenses for use of film songs and promos at public events.

The notices have been sent for infringement of copyright. Chetan Maniar, Vice President of Novex said the agency has also registered a police complaint seeking action against those involved.

He said the songs were played at all the matches despite being told to procure licenses for doing so.

Cricket officials, however, could not be reached immediately for comment on the issue.
