IBM today announced that WinHire Technologies, the provider of a video-based social networking solution for virtual recruitment, has selected the technology giant's SmartCloud Enterprise solution to roll out its next generation business model leveraging social media.

"Making a choice over Amazon, Win Hire preferred the IBM solution as it allowed them to access secure enterprise-class shared private cloud computing infrastructure to drive higher efficiency, manage costs and increase speed-to-market," according to an IBM statement.

"Through the innovative use of social media, WinHire will provide a platform for virtual interaction between job-seekers and recruiters," it said.

IBM said its SmartCloud Enterprise provides rapid access to multi-tenant shared cloud computing infrastructure that can be scaled to the needs of an enterprise and is priced on actual usage.

It also offers a ready-to-use software catalogue with various licencing options.
