ArcelorMittal's Chairman and CEO Lakshmi N Mittal said he expects the automobile industry to manufacture safer, cleaner and affordable cars.

"I am very impressed with the show (Auto Expo 2012) and the growth potential in the auto industries. I am going to see some of the cars which are being built for the future. What really I am expecting from this industry is to build safer, cleaner and affordable cars," Mittal told reporters here after the expo inauguration.

Indian-origin steel magnate Mittal was present today at the expo, which was inaugurated by Heavy Industry and Public Sector Enterprises Minister Praful Patel and Road Transport and Highways Minister C P Joshi here.

Talking about his company, he said ArcelorMittal will always invest in developing a better quality steel.

"As a steel company, ArcelorMittal is always investing in developing a better quality steel, which is lighter in weight and stronger in quality, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions, so that we have a much more cleaner environment and manufacturers can produce cleaner cars," he said.
