Sahyadri Cow Farm in Baramati, near Pune, set up at an investment of Rs 40 crore.

KM Goenka, chairman, Schreiber Dynamix Dairies, said it is India’s first integrated, futuristically designed farm. The company’s clients include Britannia, Danone, GSK, Mother Dairy and Nestle. Its dairy products are exported to the Middle East, China and USA and leading food chains such as Dominos, McDonald’s, Papa John’s, US Pizza and YUM! Restaurants.

Of the company’s total investment, State Bank of India has invested Rs 30 crore and another Rs 10 crore came from the company’s internal accruals, he said. The plant located at Baramati manufactures dairy products such as cheese, butter, ghee, milk powders, milk proteins, dahi, long shelf life (UHT) milk, malted milk, flavoured milk and non-dairy products such as juices and beverages.

With a total of 6,000 mix breed of local and international cows, including Jersey and Holstein cows, the Sahyadri Cow Farm was designed to produce milk and milk products to internationally prescribed quality and hygiene standards, he said. “The 300-acre farm at Katphal, Baramati, will use the latest feeding and milking equipments imported from France and Germany,” Goenka said. He said the dairy was aiming to double its turnover from the present Rs 950 crore to Rs 1,900 crore in two years.

“At present, over one million litres of cow milk is processed every day at our plant and we want to double it to two million litres daily within two years,” Goenka said. He said with this unique cow farm, Baramati was now one of the largest global dairy hubs serving both local demand and exports.
