Ramky set to expand operations in north

Ramky Estates and Farms, the real estate arm of the Ramky Group, will launch its operations in Mumbai, Pune, NCR, Kolkata, Indore and Coimbatore during FY 2012-13. It will focus on integrated townships and residential clusters, said executive director M Nanda Kishore.

At present, the company has operations in Bangalore, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Warangal with five million sq ft under construction. This needs an investment of about Rs 1,700 crore over the next five years or so, said Kishore, adding that this would be met through a mix of equity and cash flows from customer advances.

This apart, it has signed projects for another 9.8 million sq ft to be executed over five to six years. It is also readying infrastructure for its Discovery City, a 30 million sq ft project coming up in 375-acres on the outskirts of Hyderabad and likely to take eight years in completion, he said. The project is being developed in a joint venture with the group’s publicly-listed company Ramky Infrastructure Limited. The company is also in discussions with partners for joint development or a joint venture where the partners would bring the land and Ramky would contribute with the construction and design.
