Oracle’s single storage plan for India

Hardware and software solution provider Oracle on Tuesday launched ‘Big Data Appliance’ in India, which will help their customers swift through records and data stored in their computer servers within seconds.

The appliance would help its customers gather information requests in very short time that otherwise take weeks now. This will make their businesses not only agile but reduce costs as well by integrating all hardware and software components into a single data storage. “Oracle’s Big Data strategy is centred around the idea that customers can evolve their current enterprise data architecture to incorporate Big Data deliver business value leveraging the proven reliability,flexibility and performance of their Oracle systems,” said , Sundar Ram, Oracle vice-president for technology, sales and consulting in Asia Pacific.

Without disclosing any name, he said Oracle is in talks with various companies for this solution world over. Verticals such as banking, financial services and insurance, retail, media and government sectors can adopt the solution to manage huge data flow. Sectors such as telecom and healthcare are likely to be its early adopters, he said.

“Organisations across verticals are faced with the challenge of acquiring, organising and analysing this enormous digital data to make better business decisions. With so many records in healthcare and telecom sectors, one can find out any information within seconds with Big Data,” Ram said.
