The company is studying the feasibility of launching operations here and is waiting for the MVNO policy to come into effect in India, Lycamobile Group CEO Milind Kangle said.

"We are closely watching the Indian market. When the policy is announced we will see about launching the services," Kangle told reporters here.

He said the company has given inputs on MVNO to the government and expected the service to be launched sometime in the "middle of next year".

The company operates in 14 countries employing over 4,000 people and has over 14 million subscribers.

Kangle and top company officials were here to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Plintron Global Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd to tap the global mobile virtual network aggregator market.

Plintron Founder-CEO Mohan Kumar said this MoU was valid for five years and they have set a target of reaching USD 100 million in sales.

He said Lycamobile has also invested in Plintron Global and added his company has recently acquired three customers.

Association with Plintron Global would help Lycamobile reach 20 million customers in five to seven years, Kangle said.
