May 12 2011 , New Delhi
“Our total income has increased by 56.45 per cent at Rs 194 crore for fourth quarter of 2010-11 from Rs 124 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The same store sales, that are open for at least one year, rose 33.2 per cent. We have short-listed 40 cities where we would open stores over the next three years,” said Ajay Kaul, chief executive officer of Jubilant FoodWorks.
The company’s standalone net sales for 2011-12 increased 59.94 per cent to Rs 678.07 crore from Rs 423.93 crore during the 12-month period ended March 31, 2010.
He added, “Currently the top 10 cities contribute almost 70 per cent of our overall revenue and the rest comes from the 80 cities. In the past three years, we have entered 50 new cities and we would continue to be focused on entrenching our store web into existing cities and tap opportunities in tier-II and III cities.”
The company has announced its franchisee agreement with US-based coffee and bakery chain, Dunkin Donuts, during February 2011. Jubilant FoodWorks is planning to open 100 Dunkin Donuts stores in next five years. The first one is expected to come up early in 2012. “The initial development has started on product concepts for Dunkin Donuts in India,” said Kaul.
Moreover, the company is also in the process of unveiling its first Domino’s store in Sri Lanka next month through its subsidiary Jubilant FoodWorks Lanka. It plans to open five Domino’s outlets in Sri Lanka during 2011-12.
