Jet Airways launches direct flight to Paris

Private carrier Jet Airways today launched a direct flight service to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport from here which offers passengers greater connectivity and seamless travel to Europe via the French capital.

To begin with, the new flight will be operated four days a week but it will be converted into a daily service from June 26, the airline said in a release here.

"With the new direct flight and our recently expanded code share partnership, Jet Airways will now be able to offer its guests unmatched connectivity and seamless travel from India to Europe via Paris," Jet Airways senior vice president, commercial, Gaurang Shetty said.

"Our code share agreement with Air France, which the airline expanded recently, is another distinctive travel solution, as it will offer guests access to over 23 major cities across Europe," he said.

The expanded agreement provides for enhanced network connectivity to passengers to 12 major cities across Europe and the UK.

Code share is a commercial agreement between two or more airlines that share the same flight, with all partners able to sell seats on that flight.

As per the new expanded code share, both carriers will place their marketing codes on each other's flights on the Mumbai-Paris trunk route, the release said.

This will leave guests with a choice of a dual frequency as an additional schedule option, offering convenient timings by providing a morning and evening departure and arrival at both the destinations. This codeshare is already open for sale for travel from May 25, the airline said.
