Happiest Minds receives $45 million from Soota, VC funds

Happiest Minds was founded by Ashok Soota after he quit MindTree a few months back. Soota was one of the copromoters of MindTree. The funding was also supported by the other founders of Happiest Minds.
The start up company however didn’t disclose about the equity stakes taken by Canaan partners and Intel Capital.
Canaan India, MD, Alok Mittal, who will also be in the company’s board, said, “Happiest Minds has grown its global client base quickly. Our recruitment strategy will depend on how the business grows”.
Happiest Mind’s chief marketing officer, Salil Godika, said, “We are going to venture in Europe and Singapore within one year. In terms of hiring,we will recruit people in solutions development, infrastructure and sale sand marketing domains. I can’t give you clear specific answer on the number of the hiring we will make”.
When asked about the rate of return from this venture, Mittal, said, “It is a seed capital funding. Right now we are not expecting about returns. We want the company to grow. I can’t disclose about the stake and investment details of the next round of funding”.
Ashok Soota who will serve as the executive chairman of the company said.
