The company has invested Rs 10 crore in its Gurgaon centre, which includes a Mexican restaurant, a bar and a cigar lounge. A temperature of 22 degrees is maintained throughout the year at GolfWorx.

The high-definition golf simulator at the Gurgaon centre uses advanced computer vision technology to provide the most comprehensive and precise shot analysis. It has the unique capability to measure all critical ball and club parameters including ball speed, club speed, launch angle, club face angle, ball spin and spin axis at high accuracy, according to GolfWorx.

Rahul Singh, managing director of GolfWorx, said, “Golf courses are not often open to public, and there are membership restrictions at clubs. But we are bringing the golf experience to the masses through simulation. About 70-80 per cent of our customers are first time players of golf. Except the walking, GolfWorx gives real-time experience in all other aspects. Moreover, there is a rewinding feature which allows a person to go back and identify where he went wrong.”

The Gurgaon centre, which charges Rs 500 an hour, gets about 5,000-6,000 people each month, according to Singh. About the expansion plans, Singh said, “We are in talks with some malls in Bangalore and Mumbai, and working out the details of the deal. We expect to set up two more centres by 2011 end.”
