German Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Hans-Joachim Otto, along with a business delegation, is on a six-day India visit to boost bilateral economic ties.

"Infrastructure and development are a focus area of Indo-German relations. With an aim of boosting these ties, Otto on Thursday is expected to meet representatives from the infrastructure sector," a German Embassy statement said.

He will be meeting Amitabh Kant, CEO and MD of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation and Vinay Mittal, Chairman of Railway Board tomorrow.

State Minister Otto is also scheduled to meet Minister of Shipping G K Vasan, the statement added.

The following day, he is expected to meet Minister of State for Defence Jitendra Singh, and Power Secretary Uma Shankar.

He is also expected to meet Delhi's Lt. Governor Khanna with his delegation in the last leg of his New Delhi tour, before he leaves for Pune and Mumbai.

In Delhi, Otto will also meet Saurabh Chandra, DIPP Secretary and representatives at CII.

The CII in May last year had mounted a business delegation to Berlin and Hamburg on the occasion of 'The Days of India in Germany: Connecting Cultures' – an event to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Germany.

India-Germany bilateral trade stood at $ 24.21 billion in 2011-12, up 29.91 per cent over the previous year.
