“Audi plans to introduce the new Audi Q7 in India in the coming month,” an Audi India spokesperson said.

The automaker sold close to 350 units of the Audi Q7 in the country last year. He, however, declined to divulge further details on the new model. Audi sells three variants of the Audi Q7 in the country, priced between Rs 53.40–67 lakh.

The German automaker sold total of 1,050 units in India in 2008. “We have set a goal of 1,500 units this year,” he added. In the first half of the year ending June, the firm has already sold 821 units in the country.

Industry estimates suggest that the luxury car segment, cars with price tag of more than Rs 25 lakh, is growing at a compound annual growth rate of around 15 per cent. About 7,000 luxury cars are sold in the country annually.

“Audi is enthusiastic about increasing its hold in the Indian market. We plan to foray into tier II cities including Jaipur and Lucknow,” the spokes-person said.
