BA slashes fare on India-London route

This low fare would be available on BA's flights to London-Heathrow from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore, an airlinespokesperson said.
The move by the premier British carrier came a day ahead of Kingfisher Airline launching its direct flight to London-Heathrow from Bangalore. Jet Airways and Air India have already made their mark on flights on this sector.
BA Commercial Manager for South Asia, Amanda Amos, said "this is a commitment to our Indian customers to offer our lowest ever fare and excellent value. Our customers want to fly to and within the UK more than ever and with this amazing offer we are able to offer a superb flying experience to the most exciting city in the world".
She said besides the "irresistibly low fare to London, we will continue to offer our customers all the benefits they have come to expect from British Airways".
The British carrier operates double daily services to London from Mumbai and Delhi, a daily service from Bangalore, a five - weekly service from Chennai, and a three -- weekly service from Kolkata.
