Hong Kong share prices opened up 0.7 per cent on Tuesday, a rebound limited by the weakness in mainland Chinese stock exchanges, dealers said.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 149 points to 21,055.31.

Oil producer CNOOC dropped three percent after crude prices eased. China Mobile rose 0.3 percent, rebounding after a sharp fall Monday on worries over its earnings outlook.
