USL to target 20% market share
With a view to capture around 20 per cent market share in the premium Vodka segment in India Made Foreign Liquor category, leading liquor manufacturer United Spirits today announced the launch of 'Romanov Red', an extension of its million plus premium Vodka brand Romanov.

"With the launch of new variant of Ramanov, we are expecting to garner around 15 to 20 per cent market share in the premium segment," USL Assistant Vice-President, Marketing, Debashish Shyam told PTI.

The company has rope in renowned bollywood celebrity Shilpa Shetty for the endorsements and is now planning to launch large scale marketing activity to promote the drink.

Revealing more about Romanov Red, Shyam said, USL is the only company in the country to launch multi-grain and multi-distilled Vodka and at a price of Rs 270-300 per bottle, it is the most competitively priced Vodka available in the Indian market.

Premium Vodka segment is the fastest growing segment in India with annual growth of over 80 per cent and has a total market of around eight lakh cases.

The total market for Vodka in the country is around 4.5 million case, mostly dominated by regular Vodka, which is priced at around Rs 180-200 per bottle.
