Silhouettes in flavour at colleges

Colleges have opened for the new session. There is all that excitement and anticipation in the air, the dread of ragging, and a big question mark as to what one should wear. I have been flooded with queries for what to wear to college this season.

I think college-going students should always put an mphasis on comfortable clothing. Keeping this in mind, one can work around so many options. Apart from the regular jeans and T-shirts, one can try more exciting silhouettes as well. Zauove pants are an interesting silhouette to experiment with. These are loose slouchy pants with a very low crotch. These can be teamed with fun T-shirts or cotton tops. Throwing in a belt is a great idea. In the present scenario, it will be fantastic to experiment with gladiators of different kinds for this look. One can try out printed zauove pants to make a statement as opposed to simpler solid-coloured ones.

This season shorts are one of the leading trends. One could explore with prints or checks or stripes in varying lengths of shorts teamed with comfortable T-shirts. I’m sure you are bored of the regular kind of T-shirts and to make things spunkier, perhaps you could try out hand painting or scribbling or even patchwork on old tees. It could be interesting to go back to SUPW lessons and experiment with paints and other art material to spruce up those old borings tees that you don’t know what to do with. This could be a very cool way of utilising old clothes as well as making a statement.

Another silhouette that is very hot this season is the cardigan. When I say cardigan, I don’t mean sweaters. I mean lighter weight cotton knit, front open cardigans that can be teamed up with shorts and cotton tops or dresses or anything else. This styling is more for the look and feel of it than for purpose.

Jeans are the most comfortable as well as the most mundane silhouettes. I suggest you try out some new silhouette in this area. High waist and pleated is key this season. Perhaps you could even try out some boyfriend jeans. Skinny jeans are still doing very well so we must not discard those. They look great with loose kurtas and a chunky belt.

Getting hold of a few comfortable dresses is also a good idea. Try some solid colours. Throw in a high waist belt in a contrast colour. Big roomy bags are one of the most essential and intrinsically college items. You need a bag that houses everything and has space for more.

Going for hardy materials is a good idea like canvas or faux leather. These kinds look chic and young and go a long way. It is easy to match such materials with most of your wardrobe and also easy to take care of. Get a lot of flat gladiators in all possible colours. Flip-flops and some cool tie-up roman slippers. You will enjoy how these will completely transform the look and feel of your outfit
