Merlin unveils luxury apartment complex
Kolkata-based Merlin Group is developing Merlin Jasmine at Bhowanipore, right in the central business district of Kolkata. Comprising two G+3 storeyed towers, the residential complex will offer 24 plush apartments. Besides, the complex will also have a modern servant dormitory (separate for males and females).

Responding to suggestions and feedback from its existing and prospective clientele, the company has decided to come up with accommodations for domestic helps. Sushil Mohta, managing director of Merlin Group, told FC Estate, “Many people living in the city have resident servants and it’s a real problem for tenants and homeowners to accommodate them within their own living space. They prefer a separate living space for their domestic helps.

It’s good from the point of view of individual privacy also. They don’t even mind paying a reasonable additional amount for this extra space to keep their domestic help within the same premises and yet outside their apartment. That’s how we came up with the idea of a separate servant dormitory.”

Merlin Jasmine, which involves an investment of Rs 15 crore, is also centrally located near Merlin Homeland on Chowringhee Road.

Designed by architect Ritam Sarkar of Sarkar & Associates, the two towers of Merlin Jasmine will be identical in every way. All the apartments in these two towers will be spacious. The three-bedroom apartments will have an area of 1,800 sq ft, while the four-bedroom apartments will cover 2,706 sq ft.

“Merlin Jasmine will have the most modern elevation as per Merlin’s tradition to make the building a symbol of class. Inside, there will be granite-top kitchen platform with designer tiles, a stainless steel sink with a drain board with Jaquar or equivalent brand’s fittings,” said Mohta.

Mohta said there will be round-the-clock electronic security and surveillance system and with emergency alarm at Merlin Jasmine. The towers would also feature an air-conditioned community hall, a gym and health club, a roof-top garden and a children’s play area. There would also be a water treatment plant and a separate water supply line from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) in the kitchen. The price range of these dwellings range from Rs 60 lakh-Rs 80 lakh.

“Our strength is delivery of our promise through meticulous planning, emphasis on essential requirements, importance of location, connectivity and convenience and customer budget, backed by use of quality material and workmanship and after-sales service. Merlin Jasmine will be no exception. We will have more than 50 residential and commercial complexes and 500 independent bungalows covering more than 5,000,000 sq ft floor area by year-end,” Mohta said.
