Manjaree loves to live amid waterfalls
Actress Manjaree Fadnnis started her career with Rok Sako To Rok Lo in 2004. She got her big break with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in which she played Imran Khan’s girlfriend. She loves to be amid waterfalls and dreams of owning a home in Mauritius.

What is your idea of a dream home?

Hhmmm…may be a house near the beach with glass walls so that I can watch the sea from every corner of the house. The decor should have a lot of colours. When I say colours, I mean vibrant colours. My house should be decorated with crystals. I also need decent furniture sets and, of course, a lovely family. In addition, I need two cute dogs, Golden Retrievers, perhaps. I think that’s more than enough!

What kind of interiors do you prefer?

I like vibrant colours such as turquoise blue. It goes well with white. The décor of the house where I am living right now has a lot of blue and white. I have done up my living room in a combination of turquoise blue, white and baby pink. I also like orange and yellow shades. But I don’t like colours such as brown, dark-brown, grey and black. I prefer colours, which make me happy. I love red too…maybe not so much for the home, but I love wearing it! Pastel shades are okay for me. I prefer marble flooring, glittering glass and greenery all around my house. Having big, wide windows is important for me.

Describe the house you are staying in right now?

It’s located in a peaceful area. I am staying in a rented accommodation, but the interiors are done up according to my taste and I am happy about it. Lighting is bright, but in the evening when I have guests at home, I light lamps. It all depends on my mood. Candles are extremely important in my house. Every single showpiece in my house has either a candle stand or an angel statue. But, I need to have a lawn in my house.

Which is your favourite corner in your home?

My favourite corner is in my bedroom. Actually, I have two favourite corners in my house — one is the windowsill where I prefer to sit when it’s raining. The view from there is absolutely stunning during the monsoon. The other is my coffee table. I use it as my dinner table too. I mean, I do my work there and eat my food there.

In which other city would you prefer your ideal home to be?

I would like to own a house in a hill station. I can’t say which one, but it should be lush and surrounded by waterfalls. I want to live amid nature. It may be a place like Ooty or it could even be Mauritius.

What kind of externals or surroundings do you prefer?

I want a combination of sea and mountains. I prefer a lot of greenery and would love to have lots of water bodies too. Or, may be I would landscape the lawn in front of my house.

What matters more, a comfortable house or a well-kept house?

It has to be a well-kept house to be comfortable. Well, it goes hand in hand!
