in Delhi NCR Sahibabad. Another hotel from the stable in Mysore is due in 2011.

The Rs 180 crore Sahibabad property is being managed by Country Development & Management (CDMS), a joint venture between Country Inns & Suites by Carlson and Chanakya Hotels.

Justifying the setting up of premium property on the outskirts of Delhi, that too in a predominantly industrial area, Rahul Mathur, director, sales and marketing, Country Inn and Suites by Carlson, said there is great need for a five-star property in the area.

“The development which has happened in Sahibabad in the recent past has been nothing short of phenomenal. The infrastructure in the city has improved drastically. Numerous companies have invested money in the town. Moreover, the town has numerous advantages owing to its close proximity to places like Noida, Akshardham, connectivity to central Delhi, etc. All these factors would play a pivotal role in the growth of the hospitality sector in the city,” he said.

He also pointed out that many companies that were running factories in Sahibabad are closing shop and setting up offices. “As a result, there’s a huge influx of blue-collared executives who are our potential customers,” he said.

Mathur said the first-mover advantage would help Country Inn & Suites Sahibabad immensely. “There is a great deal of MICE business already happening in the hotel. We are working hard to ensure that we grow in the leisure model also. We have offered a state-of-the-art spa, health club, beauty salon, swimming pool and a shopping arcade,” he said.

The 216-room hotel is spread over 3.35 lakh sq ft built-up area. A vegetarian hotel, the property has an all-day dining restaurant 64/6, an Indian fine-dining restaurant Tatva and Café J tea lounge. Other facilities include a swimming pool, a fitness centre and spa, banquet facilities, and a business centre. Room sizes range between 400 sq ft (superior room) and 800 sq ft (suite). Banquet sizes range between 1,400 sq ft and 6,000 sq ft.

Meanwhile, the Mysore property will provide 120 well-appointed rooms and offer convenient access to festivities that take place during the period of Dasara, the state festival of Karnataka in 2011. The hotel will feature a number of amenities including a health club, speciality restaurant and bar, and extensive banquet facilities.
