is internally called SPA, two of its directors and few other senior professionals have quit the firm.

The two directors — Rahaju Pal and Avijit Gupta —have already left and joined Deloitte India as directors. Financial Chronicle has information that the head of SPA Sanjay Sen has also put in his papers. Another stalwart in the division, who is likely to follow suite is Narsipuram Ramu, according to PW insiders. However there are some technical difficulties in getting his release, added the insiders. Repeated queries sent to Sen did not elicit any response. According to officials in the SPA division, the total number who have left the organisation could be around eight.

While admitting that some people have left their SPA division recently, PW, however said two of the people mentioned in the FC questionnaire were still with them.

Responding to a detailed questionnaire, PW said, “Price Waterhouse has a very large team working out of our Systems and Process Assurance (Computer Audit) division which is headed by Sanjoy Sen. Hiring and attrition is normal in any organization of our size and PwC has the lowest attrition rate in the industry. Some people left in the last couple of months to pursue careers elsewhere — but two of the people you have mentioned are, in fact, still with us. None of the senior people who have left worked on the audit of Satyam. As you know we do not comment on client issues”.

Responding to separate questionnaires sent by Financial Chronicle, both Pal and Gupta confirmed that they had left PW and joined Deloitte as Directors at the latter’s Mumbai and Hyderabad office respectively. “I can’t comment on other departures. Overall it’s normal for any organisation to have some attrition,” Pal added.
