“We have opportunities for businesses from new markets like Southeast Asia, West Asia. Business from countries in Europe and the US is also picking up now. We are already in talks with two new customers in UAE and Philippines for providing them solutions in banking and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). We will hire around 150 people in the next six months,” Niraj Vedwa, chief operating officer, Nucleus Software Exports, told FC.

He said the company is focusing on revenues part this year so that it can maintain both the topline and bottomline. “We are trying to channel our partners through direct sales. That is why we are hiring more people for covering the markets. Through this, we are expecting better results in the next quarter from the last quarter ended December 31, 2009,” Vedwa said declining to give any projections for future perfornmance.

In the last quarter, the company’s standalone audited net profit declined by 24.12 per cent to Rs 4.41 crore as compared to Rs 5.81 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2008. However, in the nine-month period ended December 31, 2009, its net profit grew at Rs 28.76 crore against Rs 17.66 crore in the corresponding period of 2008. The company has 30 partners worldwide with presence in 55 countries.
