“The business in these sectors is growing and we are hoping to recruit nearly 4,000 within two years in a phased manner,” Milind Godbole, president, Asia Pacific, Aditya Birla Minacs, told Financial Chronicle.
On Monday, the company launched its 2,600-seat new delivery centre at MIDC Chikalthana in Aurangabad. “The five year outsourcing services deal worth Rs 600 crore with Idea Cellular will provide customer interaction services in Marathi, Hindi and English to their 53 million subscribers,” Godbole said. At present, the centre has employed 1,000 staff, which would be increased to 2,000 by March 2010, he said.
The company, he said would launch its Kolkata and Chennai BPO delivery centers in a big way this financial year. “The Kolkata delivery centre will hire 400 staff in February 2010 and scale it up to 2,000 in the future,” Godbole said. The services would be provided in Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, and Hindi.
The company has 1,000 staff in Baroda catering mainly in Gujarati, Hindi and English while the Mumbai international centre had over 150 staff providing service in Marathi, Hindi and English to the domestic clients. “We are hiring more people with a boom in telecom, insurance and banking sectors,” Godbole said.
