Wipro Technologies opens new development centre in Hungary

IT firm Wipro Technologies today announced the opening of a new development centre in Budapest, Hungary.

The centre was set up to primarily service Magyar Telekom (MT), to enable the telecom company improve efficiency in customer experience and increase market agility, Wipro Technologies said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Wipro had signed a multi-year deal with Magyar Telekom (a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom), the largest telecom service provider in Hungary.

"This important investment complements our longer term goals in the region, delivering services in closer proximity to our clients and leveraging the local talent pool better," Jack Smies, Vice President and European Head of Global Media and Telecom, Wipro Technologies said.

With the launch of this centre, Wipro has four centres in Eastern Europe, including Romania and Poland. The company has over 20 delivery centres already active in Europe, it added.
