At present, 40 NGOs and individuals across the country have registered for this project, and Cisco is targeting 250-plus NGOs and individuals to register in the next six to nine months.

Naresh Wadhwa, president and country manager, Cisco — India and Saarc, said, “I am confident that this platform will give a fillip to the numerous organisations in India that are engaged in positive social change. This platform is a blend of Twitter, Facebook and other social websites.”

The platform allows visitors to browse through specific categories that include education, healthcare, environment and animal welfare, economic development and infrastructure and social welfare. It is built on Google Earth application, allowing visitors to choose a particular initiative.
