(FSA), but expressed the hope that the power major would do so soon.

"NTPC has not yet signed the FSAs. I think they (NTPC) are likely to clear it in the next board meeting," CIL chairman S Narsing Rao said.

On December 10, both the PSU chiefs met here to sort out differences. After the meeting, NTPC chairman Arup Roychowdhury had said FSAs would be signed in a month's time.

NTPC will have to sign 13 out of 18 FSAs left to be signed so far.

CIL had earlier repeatedly said that coal supply would not be stopped for NTPC.

Meanwhile, Rao said CIL had received a request for import of 5-6 million tonnes of coal from its consumers.

Details of the import plan was yet to be worked out by Coal India (CIL).

The CIL board meeting did not discuss the issue of coal price hike or the matter of International Coal Ventures Ltd, a special purpose vehicle formed to acquire mines abroad.
