The license holder of her brand in the country, License India, is planning to introduce branded merchandise of the diva within the next 10 months.
License India, which works as a facilitator for major licensing deals in the country, has recently tied up with the US-based Bradford License, which has the global exclusive rights for the Marilyn Monroe brand.
"It (Marilyn Monroe brand) will be used in fashion apparel, bags and other accessories," License India Director Ritu Marya told PTI.
She said the products will be majorly in the premium fashion segment as "Marilyn Monroe personifies glamour and fashion and that is the kind it suits."
The firm is looking out for interested licensees in India for introducing the Marilyn Monroe merchandise, she added.
Marilyn Monroe is around USD 1 billion brand in the US and is a hit in the Europe as well, Marya said.
A style icon herself in her heydays, Monroe still has influence in the fashion world even after her death on August 4, 1962.
Besides the Marilyn Monroe brand, License India is also currently working at bringing Pepsi and 7UP merchandises in the country. It is likely to introduce them this year.
