Global Takeoff seeks to cash in on 3G boom

Global Takeoff, a provider of converged digital entertainment, communications and advertising is betting on communication and internet explosion in India. The company aims to cash in on wireless communication boom with arrival of 3G and upcoming auction of broadband spectrum.

Global Takeoff offers products such as live web broadcasting portal called freedocast.com and yupptv.com that offers Indian and international TV channels on mobile handsets as well. Hyderabad-based Apalya Technologies is the only company that offers TV channels on mobile handsets in India at present.

Uday Reddy, CEO of Global Takeoff said, “India will be a big market for us in the next five years. We expect India to account for 30-40 per cent of our total revenues.”

The company intends to tie up with event management companies and educational institutes to promote freedocast.com.

According to Reddy the company is also bullish on mobile TV platform wherein it will offer yupptv.com to consumers. Globally the website has a consumer base of half a million registered users.
