CEO of Kenersys group Paulo Fernando Soares said the company has begun commercial production of the multi-megawatt on-shore wind turbines in Germany and Baramati. He said the company spent a total of Rs 500 crore in research and development, designing, testing, prototype and developing the infrastructure in both the facilities. While the German plant will produce both 2 mw and 2.5 mw capacity wind turbines, the Baramati facility will make 2 mw capacity wind turbines.
“The company with its global headquarters and Global Technology Centre in Germany is on track with a production capacity of 1,000 mw annually,” said Baba Kalyani, chairman, Kenersys group and chairman and managing director of Bharat Forge.
He said both the German and Indian facilities have the capacity to produce 250 wind turbines each annually.“The industry leading Synerdrive technology is used to make these turbines to ensure maximum energy output and grid stability,” Kalyani said.
