The university has partnered with National Management School (NMS), Chennai, an institute launched last year by a group of 60 professors from US-based B-schools, for this exchange programme. “The visiting students will continue their subjects during their 13 weeks at NMS. They will also get to interact with CXOs of top businesses in India, visit their premises and also work on their projects,” NMS dean Sankaran Raghunathan said.
“They will undergo cultural education in the form of visits to major cities as well as the hinterlands,” Porat said. This is expected to help them understand the ‘phenomenon of India’s economic growth’ and learn how Indian business houses solve issues on regulation and consumer relations.
The university, which has external campuses in Rome and Tokyo, will definitely find India an interesting destination to set up shop, he said. “But it is too early to decide on it.”
At least half the 35 strong batch of the Fox school are expected to join the first exchange programme this September. NMS, which has completed one term with its first batch of seven students, has acquired six adjunct and visiting faculty members for its team, so far. “We expect to add six more this term and continue the same practice every term,” Raghunathan said.
