TIS forays into school sector with Classedge

E-learning firm Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), which forayed into school education sector with its integrated learning solution, Classedge, is targeting to cover over 1,000 schools across 125 cities by the end of this academic year.

The company has already implemented its integrated learning solution for the K-12 sector in 100 schools across 52 cities in India. These schools are affiliated to various boards such as CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE and state boards.

“The initiative is in line with our objective of covering over 1,000 schools across 125 cities by the end of this academic year. During this period, the company aims at increasing its employee base in the school division from 250 to 600.

Currently, TIS employs 200 business development managers in over 125 cities pan India,“ said Sanjaya Sharma, CEO, Tata Interactive Systems.

He further added, “It's heartening to see the adoption of digital classroom by academic institutions. It not only reflects the chang ing dynamics of education in our country but also the way it is imparted.“

Classedge is an innovative and comprehensive educational solution, which promises to help teachers deliver instructions, via a blend of classroom activities and interactive multimedia demonstrations.

“Today's education system needs to give a window for participatory learning where students get an opportunity to test their problem-solving skills. Through Classedge, we intend to address the gaps in the current educational practices.

Our aim is to encourage experiential learning and creative thinking in students and enhance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process,“ he added.
