Canpro, GI Security tie up for security training

Canada-based Canpro Global Services, one of the world’s leading security training providers, has tea-med up with GI Security of India to set up a chain of modern, well-equipped security training institutes across the country.

Said Ashit Luthra, director of GI Security: “We have floated a 50:50 joint venture company called Campro-GI Security for setting up at least 50 training institutes across the country and overseas training centres in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Maldives, West Asia and CIS countries over the next two years. We have also earmarked Rs 10 crore for initial investment in this period.”

Canpro Global will also be sourcing its security guards from the Indian company after training th-em thoroughly, particularly for Abu Dhabi and other West Asian countries. GI Security already has a representative office in Dubai that will be upgraded to a full-fledged office shortly.

The first of the training centres are scheduled to be operational in October in Kolkata and Delhi simultaneously. They plan to train 18,000-20,000 security guards each year initially.

“The training modules will be completely web-based and beamed to classrooms nationwide. Thou-gh each classroom will have a trainer present, the lessons will be broadcast through a central server,” Luthra said.
