annual fund meeting at Washington this month as the president of the G-24 group.

"I will attend the IMF and World Bank annual fund meeting, which will be held in Washington DC from September 23-25," Mukherjee said here.

The annual meetings are usually held for two consecutive years at the IMF and World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC, and every third year in another member country, he said.

The last three meetings abroad were held in Istanbul (2009), Singapore (2006), and Dubai (2003). The next meeting outside Washington, DC, is scheduled for October 12-14, 2012, in Tokyo, Japan.

"Previously, in 1984, I became the chairman of the Group of 24 attached to the IMF and World Bank," Mukherjee added.

At this year's IMF-World Bank annual meetings, member countries are expected to discuss the critical challenges facing the global economy.
