Govt to borrow $35.7b in H2 of FY11:fin secy

The government will borrow 1.63 trillion rupees ($35.7 billion) between October and March, Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla said on Thursday.

The government has so far borrowed 2.73 trillion rupees of the budgeted 4.57-trillion-rupee gross borrowing for the fiscal year to end-March. It had planned to sell debt worth 2.87 trillion in the April-September period.
