Biz houses interested in farrukahbadi potato: Khurshid

Union Minister of State for Minorities and Corporate Affairs Salman Khurshid has said here some big business houses have shown interest in buying the local potato and would be visiting the area soon.

In an informal chat with newspersons at his native Pitaura village here yesterday, Khurshid said the potato variety in the area, widely known as "farrukahbadi", has evoked interest and soon representatives of business houses would be visiting for negotiations in this regard.

Last year, on the initiative of the Minister, Pepsi had provided seeds of "chipsona potato" to the farmers of Kayamganj.
