Chennai, November 26th 2009: Tilaknagar Industries Ltd.,(TI) (BSE: 507205), India’s fastest growing manufacturer of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) formally opened its latest expansion, a new 50000 Litres per day, state of the art, multi-pressure distillation plant for production. This 50 KLPD distillation plant will produce highest purity extra neutral alcohol (ENA). The company had invested Rs 75 crore for setting up this new plant in Shrirampur, Ahmednagar and for up-gradation of the existing plants.

The plant is totally controlled by PLC (Process Logic Control) based technology. A high quality variety of ENA will be produced which will be utilized for the premium brands of TI across the country and for export requirements.

This plant is also an environment friendly plant. The distillation plant employs the most ultra modern technology which utilizes far lower quantities of steam, water, electricity and generates very lowest quantity of effluent against industry standards. Effluent is further concentrated in an evaporator, then mixed with Agri-waste, dried in a dryer and then combusted in a boiler making the process completely zero discharge, hence being environmentally friendly.

This project is also expected to benefit the community in and around Shrirampur to a large extent. Firstly this would create more employment opportunities directly with TI and also indirectly through various ancillary industries. Further the ancillary business like warehousing, Transportation, maintenance and other services will also grow because of the growth in requirements because of the extra production the plant is going to generate. By far the Engineering and Trading industry here is going to benefit by a great extent.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Amit Dahanukar, CMD, Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. said that “the commissioning of the new Plant reiterates TI’S commitment to further strengthen its position in the Indian market. Showing our dedication towards the environment we can proudly say that our plant makes use of world’s best technology which indeed results in Zero discharge pollution levels. This plant will also benefit the community at large in and around Shrirampur as this would create more jobs, more trading hubs and be also a driver for the engineering industry at Shrirampur.”
